Grand Rapids Police Searching for Missing Woman Who May Have Fallen in the Grand River

The Grand Rapids Police are currently searching for a woman with mental health issues who they say may have fallen into the Grand River.

Kimberly Marie Haymon, 55, was last seen getting off of a bus at Fulton and Division around 9:50 a.m. Tuesday. She is schizophrenic and does not have her medication.

Kalamazoo Man Sentenced for Beating His Girlfriend With a Puppy

A 51-year-old Kalamazoo man has been sentenced to six months in jail for beating his girlfriend with a two-week-old puppy resulting in the animal's death.

Timothy Tucker was also sentenced to four years of probation and entry into the Swift and Sure Sanctions Program. In addition, he was also ordered to pay fees and restitution.

Michigan Parents Who Refuse to Vaccinate Children Will Now Have to Take Extra Steps

Parents who refuse to get their children vaccinated due to philosophical or religious reasons will now have to take more steps spelled out in a  new policy by the Michigan Department of Community Health.

As of Jan. 1, parents will have to have their vaccination waivers certified by their local health department, WZZM-13 reported.
