West Michigan Whitecaps, Detroit Tigers Extend Contract to 2020

The Detroit Tigers and West Michigan Whitecaps announced today that it has agreed to a two-year extension of its player development contract.

The agreement will keep Detroit Tigers prospects playing at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park through the 2020 season.

Tigers Director of Minor League Operations Dan Lunetta said that moving forward with the Whitecaps was an easy decision.

Jazz returns to St. Cecilia Music Center in February with the Christian McBride Trio. They'll be here on February 19, at 7:30 p.m. The trio is formed around premier bassist Christian McBride, along with pianist Christian Sands and drummer Ulysses Owens, Jr.

One of the most dynamic bassist of his generation, 41 year-old Christian McBride creates a jazz tour de force with Sands and Owens, both younger emerging artists. They have been performing as a trio for about three years. In 2014, Christian McBride released his fifth recording “Out Here” on Mack Avenue Records featuring the trio.

Ohio State Defeats Oregon 42-20 for College Football National Championship [Video]

Even with a third-string quarterback, Ohio State was better than an Oregon team led by a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback.

Backup quarterback Cardale Jones completed 16-of-23 passes for 242 yards and a touchdown with an interception and ran for another touchdown and sophomore tailback Ezekiel "Zeke" Elliott ran for 246 yards and four touchdowns as the fourth-seeded Buckeyes defeated the second-seeded Ducks 42-20 in the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday night in Arlington, Texas.

The victory gave Ohio State (14-1), the Big Ten Conference champion, its eighth national championship.
