If you already know you're going to blow right past your Christmas budget, should you even bother to make a budget at all?

A new survey asked more than 500 parents if they plan on sticking to their budget for Christmas and more than half of them said no.
Only 44% of parents plan to make a budget and actually stick to it.

29% say that they plan on spending more than their budget, and 27% won't even bother to make a budget in the first place.

About one-third of parents asked said that they're planning to work overtime in the next few months to pay for the holidays. And a quarter of them say that while they're out shopping for gifts for other people, they'll also buy some for themselves.
