Tonight was a PERFECT night to hang at Rose's On Reed Lake for the First Annual "Pond Hockey Tournament".  Our sister station, WGRD, got 40 teams registered to play on four different rinks, all constructed on Reeds Lake.  East Grand R,apids Mayor  Cindy Bartman welcomed the crowd.  Jt, from GRD hosted the event along with Free Beer from the Free Beer and Hot Wings Show.   There were color guards who I believe were from Creston Heights.  Got a little patriotic too with the playing of the National Anthem to kick off the games.  Kudos to Emily Richett from Fox 17 for doing such a nice job of covering this.  She even played a little hockey with JT beforehand.  We couldn't have asked for any better weather this evening.  It was beautiful, what a gorgeous night! Felt like it was maybe 35 degrees, still, clear?  Felt kind of magical.  Pond Hockey is still happening till 10pm tonight if you want to catch it.  If not tonight it kicks off again Saturday morning, 8am until 5pm.  Fun event for the entire family.  Afterwards enjoy some lunch or dinner at Roses...I love those root  chips:-)  Here are some pics to give you a feel for the night game...the ice, the sky, the ambience, the people the players.  WOW!
