NOOO! You’ll No Longer Find Personal Ads On Craigslist

As of Friday, you can no longer use Craigslist to find a love or friendship, as they've removed all their personal sections in response to a new anti-sex trafficking bill the US Senate passed on Wednesday, making it closer to becoming a new law.

Seriously!  You can’t go find a "Margarita Monday" friend or guy who just wants to "catch fish with a buddy", in the “strictly platonic” section… - because yeah, those things happened.

Nor can you find the loooove of your life in the dating section. (For real, has anyone ever met and gotten married on Craigslist? Do you tell people that story or do you lie and say E-Harmony or Match?)

And don’t even play like you thought the “casual encounters” would still be up.  That was the first to go!

US Congress just passed HR 1865, "FOSTA", seeking to subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully.

 

Any tool or service can be misused. We can't take such risk without jeopardizing all our other services, so we are regretfully taking craigslist personals offline. Hopefully we can bring them back some day.
