The future stars of the Detroit Pistons and Detroit Red Wings will be known after this weekend. NBA draft was last night. NHL draft begins tonite. While football and basketball draft choices often step directly into a starting role, baseball and hockey players take a few years to make it to the big club. Drafting is an educated guess, at best. Take a look at some of these interesting choices.

Duke guard Kyrie Irving is the top overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. Irving was taken by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday. The Pistons took Kentucky freshman guard Brandon Knight with the eighth overall pick in the first round, and Duke senior forward Kyle Singler and Florida senior center Vernon Macklin in the second round of last night's 2011 NBA Draft.
