Nadia the dog is our special pet of the week.

Andy Rent talked about him on his Andy in the Morning show for Wet Nose Wednesday.

Meet Nadia, an American Staffordshire Terrier mix. Kimberly, from the Humane Society, brought Nadia into the studios. She is a beautiful 3 year old Pit Bull Terrier mix. Nadia weighs about 57lbs and is very social and friendly. She is tolerant and would more likely do OK with children. Nadia was transferred to Humane Society of West Michigan, making her history a mystery.

According to the American Kennel Club, the Staffordshire Terrier is a confident, good-natured and smart dog. They enjoy daily exercise and is adaptable to almost anything you want to do to provide this. Sounds like a good pet to me.

Kimberly said they are grateful for their foster families who help them and who also attended March 13th's foster orientation meeting. Many thanks to the ASPCA who awarded a grant to help with animal food, toys, treats, litter pans, etc. so foster families don't have to pay out of pocket.

This weekend the Humane Society will be having a "St. Pitties Day" Adoption Special! All adult dogs that are "Pit Bull" type dogs are at a reduced adoption fee of $100. This adoption special will be going on March 17th-19th.

And, a reminder that there is only 1 week left to sign-up for Spring Break Camp! Camp is for kids ages 7-11 from April 4th-6th. You can link up on the website for more details at www.hswestmi.org

You can get all the information on the Humane Society website or call (616) 453-8900.
