One of the things that most West Michigan residents have looked forward to for the past 19 years is Muskegon Summer Celebration. Family friendly fun, and great concerts brought thousands to Muskegon's lake shore for the event every year. However, it seems that it wasn't enough people.

According to our friends at WZZM 13, the Summer Celebration Board of Trustees has decided not to bring it back in 2012.

The Board said in a press release that these past few years have been "tough financially", and that there was too much of a chance for setbacks, that they just couldn't risk.

In the release, the Board also thanked all of their volunteers, sponsors, and attendees.
