A missing Grand Rapids woman's body has been found in the Grand River.

WZZM-13 reports that the body of 55-year-old Kimberly Haymon was found in the river around 11 a.m. Thursday.

The discovery was made after GRPD personnel decided to look in the river now that conditions are better for a search. The East Grand Rapids Department of Public Safety assisted.

Haymon's body was found near the west bank of the river in the area of the 300 block of Front St. SW.

Haymon was reported missing on January 20.

Later that afternoon Haymon's purse was discovered on a walkway near the river in front of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. Footprints led from the purse to the river, but there were no footprints leaving the area.

Haymon had a medical condition and did not have her medication with her at the time of her disappearance.

Her cause of death with be determined by The Kent County Medical Examiner's Office.
