Summer means getting outdoors in Michigan and fishing is one of many great Michigan summertime traditions.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources tells us what to expect when fishing in Michigan this year with their new regional fishing forecasts.

The Michigan DNR specifically talks about trout and steelhead fishing, the drought of 2012, favorable conditions of 2013 - 2014, the effect of our recent harsh winters, and other factors.

The news changes from region to region and there are a variety of factors that come into play, but things are mostly looking good for 2015.
