While we are still dealing with the cold, snow and icy conditions... just a reminder that its Michigan LAW to clear off any snow and ice from your car before you drive off.

Chippewa County Central Dispatch had to remind Michigan drivers of that after someone's windshield got shattered with ice that fell off the back of another car, while driving on M-129 in the U.P. Dispatch posted the pictures on Facebook.

Thankfully, the person wasn't hurt but let it be a (scary) reminder to not let this happen to you or someone else.

According to the Michigan Vehicle Code a person cannot operate a vehicle if:

An object that obstructs the vision of the driver of the vehicle...

Which includes snow, ice and slush as stated in Section 257.677a. Don't forget your lights too!
