Congratulations are in order to Michael Faas, president and CEO of Metro Health!

Mr. Faas was recognized by the Michigan Health & Hospital Association for excellence in health care leadership.  He received the MHA Health Care Leadership Award for "leading Metro Health to quality, leadership and innovation."

"Mike’s visionary leadership and willingness to try new ways of doing things have not only preserved Metro Health, but established the organization as an innovator in delivering quality, local health care," said Doyle Hayes, co-chairman of Metro’s board of directors.

An executive at Metro since 1994, Faas is credited with relocating the hospital from its former location in Southeast Grand Rapids to a new, state-of-the-art facility in Wyoming. He also was praised for working to create Pennant Health Alliance in collaboration with the University of Michigan Health System and Trinity Health, the parent company of Saint Mary’s Health Care.

MHA presented the leadership awards Sunday at its forum in Acme.
