I'm always talking about the "gems" of Grand Rapids and West Michigan.

Well, there's nothing finer than the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids.  Not only is it 'world class,' but literally attracts visitors from 'around the world.'

They are hosting a new exhibition of the works of metal sculptor Beverly Pepper, which opened Friday, "Beverly Pepper: Palingenesis 1962-2012"

Known for her innovative works in steel, iron, bronze and stone, the retrospective being shown exclusively at Meijer Gardens traces Pepper's work in metal throughout her five-decade career and will be on display until Aug. 26.

It features more than 20 works and is Pepper's largest museum presentation in recent years, with loans from a number of well-known museums, galleries and private collections.

Yet, another reason to visit the Meijer Gardens!
