Say hello to Faith the dog.  She was born just before Christmas of 2002 with two fully developed hind legs and a single deformed front leg.  After a strenuous peanut butter on a spoon training regimen as a puppy, Faith learned to walk on her hind legs.

Faith was found by Reuben Stringfellow among a litter of puppies.  Reuben found the puppy and rescued it from her mother, who was trying to smother the puppy.  The mother was instinctively attempting to terminate Faith's life because she knew that she would be unable to feed while her brothers and sisters battle for food.

Reuben brought home the puppy to his family and his mother, Jude, who all instantly fell in love.  The family was advised by several veterinarians that Faith be euthanized because of her deformities.  Where some people might give in, the Stringfellows did not.  They worked with Faith over throughout her childhood and eventually taught her to walk on her hind legs.

Faith has spent the last several years visiting with disabled veterans.  Her unique situation brings hope and demonstrates that any adversity can be overcome.  Faith has traveled all over the country visiting with anyone who wants a smile and is need of some inspiration.

'There is a lot of crying, pointing and surprise. From those who have lost friends or limbs, there can be silence. Some will shake my hand and thank me, some will pat her on the head. There is a lot of quiet, heartfelt, really deep emotion.' said Jude Stringfellow during an interview with Daily Mail.

Because of her service over the years, Faith was awarded a Field Recognition for E-5 Sergeant in the U.S. Army.

Faith has also made appearances on Oprah, Montel Williams, and tons of other nationally televised programs.  You can watch a clip of her on The Oprah Winfrey show below.

Faith the dog is now retired and living with her family.  She is 9 years old, turning 10 on December 22nd.  You can follow Faith on Facebook, or on her website.
