Sledding, snowball fights and hot chocolate are just a few of the ways to enjoy West Michigan winters. But no matter how much you love (or don't love) the snow, you always need time to warm up.

There is no better way to spend that time indoors than with a cat from Crash's Landing.

Meet Clawed LaMew from Crash's Landing!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Clawed LaMew.

Clawed LaMew was found in Wyoming in January 2015. He was in bad shape and needed immediate attention.

Clawed LaMew had multiple bite wounds which were infected on his swollen and lame left rear leg, both of his ears were terribly infected, one of his claws had been completely torn off resulting in another infection and he was anemic from a blood parasite carried by fleas.

Crash's Landing went to work treating Clawed LaMew.

It took Clawed LaMew a while to heal and to get adjusted to life at Crash's Landing, but his transformation is complete. He is healthy and enjoying life. The only thing that would make him happier is a permanent home.

Can you adopt Clawed LaMew?
