Sometimes even Super Cats need a hand.

Can you adopt Captain Americat from Crash's Landing?

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is "Purrrfect Friday," where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home. This week, we're spotlighting Captain Americat.

Captain Americat was born in the summer of 2010.

He was first found earlier this year on the southeast side of Grand Rapids. Crash's Landing was full at the time so he was brought to another shelter at first.

Once he arrived at Crash's Landing they knew something was wrong. Captain Americat was hungry, but couldn't eat well. He was soon diagnosed with liver disease (Cholangiohepatitis). The disease can be deadly if not treated.

Crash's Landing treated him with subQ fluids, two different types of antibiotics, and steroids. He was eating within hours!

Now Captain Americat is doing better than ever.

Can you adopt him?
