Maya is a beautiful four-year old Rottweiler looking for a good home.

She visited for Wet Nose Wednesday on the Andy in the Morning show on 100.5 The River.

Known as Rottweil butchers' dogs (German: Rottweiler Metzgerhund) because they were used to herd livestock and pull carts laden with butchered meat and other products to market.

Although a versatile breed used in recent times for many purposes, the Rottweiler is one of the oldest of herding breeds. A multi-faceted herding and stock protection dog, it is capable of working all kinds of livestock under a variety of conditions.

The Rottweiler is good-natured, placid in basic disposition, very devoted, obedient, biddable and eager to work. Their appearance is natural and rustic, their behavior is self-assured, steady and fearless. They react to their surroundings with great alertness.
