What do you get for the person who has everything?

Try a gift with a local twist.

This list is a good starting point if you are looking to shop in Grand Rapids. It could be much longer.

The number of excellent Grand Rapids-area restaurants and breweries that offer gift cards is long and they would make anyone with an picky palate perfectly peppy.

There are also many excellent entertainment options including sports and stage; plus shops and more.

Here are some of my favorite Grand Rapids-based Christmas gift ideas.

Rosa Parks Circle Ice Skating Pass

Ice skating at Rosa Parks Circle is fun no matter what your skill level is. Season passes to Rosa Parks Circle are an easy way to get out on the ice this winter. Season passes are $20 for youth under 18 and $40 for adults. Punch cards are also available at 10 punches for $8 or 20 punches for $15. Adults need two punches for admission. Youth need one punch for admission.

The Crane Wives' Christmas Album

One of the area's top bands, the Crane Wives, released their second Christmas album on December 1. The indie-folk band's first Christmas album was released last winter. Both are available as free downloads, but a donation for the excellent music is appreciated.

Brewery Vivant's First Bottled Beer

Brewery Vivant celebrated their fifth anniversary on Sunday. As a gift to us all, they introduced their first bottled beer in their retail shop. The wood-aged sour is called Anniversary Ale. Brewery Vivant's Wood Aged Beer Fest has long been a favorite of beer enthusiasts, but there has never been a way to enjoy their excellent wood-aged sours in a bottle before.
