Man Assaulted in Caledonia ‘Road Rage’ Beating Dies

The man beaten during what police are calling a road rage incident  that occurred on September 29 has died.

William "Andy" McFarlan, 64, had been in hospice care since his attack.

McFarlan was near Whitneyville Avenue and 60th Street in Caledonia when he was allegedly beaten by 18-year-old Christian Hillman.

No one is quite sure how the incident started, though Hillman claims that McFarlan grabbed his neck and that he was acting in self defense. Hillman is a former heavyweight boxer.

Following the assault, McFarlan's neighbor, Richard Blair, told WZZM-13 "Andy, physically, was not in any condition to fight with anybody let alone take on somebody that was much younger."

A GoFundMe set up for the McFarlan family has raised nearly $17,000.
