The Little River Band announced today its plans to launch its 40th anniversary tour with a performance on NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Jan. 12.

Five days later, it hits Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant for its first concert on tour.

The Australian-born and American-led rock-and-roll music group -- which currently includes lead singer-bassist Wayne Nelson, rhythm guitarist Greg Hind, lead guitarist Rich Herring, keyboardist Chris Marion and drummer Ryan Ricks -- has seen its fair share of change, ups, downs and hits over the past four decades. However, what remains is its unwavering commitment to entertain and a desire to deliver new music.

While fans can expect to greatest hits such as "Reminiscing," "Happy Anniversary," "Cool Change," "Lonesome Loser" and "Lady," expect new songs like "The Lost and The Lonely," which pays tribute to U.S. troops and veterans, and "You Dream, I Drive." The new songs are off the band's latest album released in August, "Cut Like a Diamond."

During the tour, the band is donating 100 percent of proceeds from "The Lost and The Lonely" song downloads to the Green Beret Foundation's The Next Ridgeline Project, which helps veterans transition.

“Many consider me a diehard. I just consider myself a dedicated musician at heart," Nelson said.

"I started with the band in early 1980 as the bass player, and was soon honored to sing lead vocals on two of Little River Band’s biggest hits -– 'Night Owls' and 'Take it Easy on Me.' I take the reputation we have built seriously as we work hard to deliver good music and entertain our fans."

Louis Levin, the band's manager who has also worked with Michael Jackson, Michael Bolton and Luther Vandross, said of Little River Band: “The band’s songs are timeless and are still being played on the radio after 40 years. And in all those years, they’ve never stopped touring and delivering a strong show every night. How many bands can say that?”

Little River Band's U.S. tour has several dates planned, with 19 dates confirmed to date.
