A nagging knee injury has caused the postponement of Lionel's Michigan shows in Detroit and Grand Rapids.

Lionel Richie's March 28 show at Van Andel Arena has been postponed. If you're holding tickets for the show, they will be honored on the new date when it's announced. Usually in such circumstances, you can get refunds at the box office as well.

Lionel is the one who pushed back the early spring section of the tour until the summer. He told E! News that his rehab from recent knee surgery is the culprit. Mariah Carey was also on the bill for the tour which was enitled 'All The Hits!'.

Also affected was the tour's Detroit date scheduled for The Palace in Auburn Hills for April 11.

"When you have been performing as long as I have, it takes a toll on your body," he said in a statement to E! News. "Unfortunately my recovery from a knee procedure will not have me 100% ready to start the tour next month. I don't want to disappoint my fans and I look forward to being back on stage so we can all be 'Dancing on the Ceiling' together again."

Strangley, there is no announcement yet on either his web site or Carey's. There is also no word on whether the rescheduling will affect Carey's appearance. The tour was slated to kick off March 15 in Baltimore.
