One of college football's all-time great coaches, Ara Parseghian, died early Wednesday morning at the age of 94.

After a successful run at Northwestern, Parseghian left Evanston for South Bend to coach the University of Notre Dame in 1964.  He coached the Fighting Irish to national titles in 1966 and 1973, and was the Irish's coach in the famous 10-10 tie against Michigan State.  He retired from Notre Dame after the 1974 season, at the age of 51.

Parseghian got into broadcasting after his career was over.  He was most notably a game and studio analyst for CBS in the 1980's.
