Watching the finale of Dancing With The Stars last night, I could tell Kirstie Alley was disappointed she didn't win.  Pittsburgh Steeler wide receiver Hines Ward edged out Alley for the coveted dancing crown.  Alley credited her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy for the turning the "oldest and heaviest" contestant this season into a championship dancer.

Characterizing herself as "not the average cupcake, Alley confessed she was sad she and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy didn't win "Dancing."

Kirstie said thanks to DWTS she fired up about returning to acting and will take on a movie roll next month.  The 60-year-old actress is also looking for a new TV series and maybe even Broadway.

Learning to dance on the hit show "re-inspired me with all the things that I've had great success with already and sort of got complacent about."

Watching Alley improve week after week has been inspiring for many....me included.  The best dancer won the competition, but the second best dancer clawed and sweated her way to the finals and nearly knocked Hines Ward off the podium.
