John Ball Zoo opened March 1.

Warmer temperatures will bring increased activity to the zoo, including the opening of the new bear exhibit this May. But even in cooler weather, the zoo offers many opportunities for fun!

Visit John Ball Zoo on Saturday, March 16, for their Animal Enrichment Series featuring small primates.

What is the Animal Enrichment Series?

Take a look at the picture below and read John Ball Zoo's explanation:

...a baboon enjoying a snack of peanut butter he's digging out of a kong toy. Working to get all the peanut butter out of that little kong toy is almost just like foraging for seed in the wild! That's enrichment!

The Animal Enrichment Series gives children and adults the chance to see and interact with animals in a way they never have before.

Participants will tour the zoo kitchen and help make and deliver "enrichment" to the animals.

The small primate animal enrichment class is Saturday, March 16, from 9:00am - 10:30am.

Cost is $10/person.  $9 for members.  Must be 5 to participate.  Under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Must pre-register.

On April 27, the Animal Enrichment Series will feature cats.
