Wednesday morning is my favorite time of the week because it is "Wet Nose Wednesday"! Trudy from the Humane Society of West Michigan stopped by on Wednesday morning, December 7th, and brought along “Sunday”.

“Sunday” is looking for her forever home. She is a 2 year old American Staffordshire terrier in need of a good home. She is very affectionate (she laid a big wet kiss on me as soon as I bent down to see her!!) She was brought to Michigan from the south in order to help out an overcrowded shelter. She is such a sweet dog. She is heartworm positive (a lot of dogs from the south are). An additional $100 is added to the adoption price due to the cost of the heartworm treatment. Her new owner will need to purchase 6 months of heartworm preventative and the Humane Society will match 6 months.

Coming up on Saturday, December 10th it’s the Humane Society of West Michigan’s “Home for the Holidays”. You can adopt adult dogs for just $25. Kittens are also only $25. If you adopt an adult cat or critter, the adoption fee is waived during this event.

The event will start at 10 am on Saturday. You must be pre-approved to adopt between 10 am to Noon. From Noon to 4 pm anyone (non pre-approved and pre-approved) can adopt. It all happens at the Humane Society of West Michigan at 3077 Wilson Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534. (The Humane Society of West Michigan will be closed on Friday to prepare for this event).

For more information on “Sunday” and other pets available for adoption, check out the Humane Society of West Michigan’s website.

Let’s find “Sunday” her forever home! What a great Christmas gift that would be for this sweet and loving little girl!!!
