Some big excitement is coming to Grand Rapids this week.  Grand Valley State University will welcome more than 50 trumpeters and musicians for the 38th annual International Trumpet Guild Conference, June 11 – 15. The conference features public concerts including eight-time Grammy Award-winning musician Arturo Sandoval, former Tonight Show band member Allen Vizzutti, and Thomas Hooten of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, among other notable musicians.

“It is an honor and great opportunity to host some of the world’s greatest trumpeters, from Germany, Spain, Poland and around the globe,” says Richard Stoelzel, trumpeter and conference host. “There will be something for everyone; master classes and lectures during the day, evening concerts featuring world- class artists, followed by nightly jam sessions at Louis Benton.”

Other concerts will feature the Grand Rapids Jazz Orchestra, Grand Rapids Symphonic Band, and Walter White and Small Medium@Large.
Most concerts will be held at DeVos Performance Hall and other locations around Grand Rapids. For an entire schedule, including a list of classes and lectures, visit HTTP://WWW.GVSU.EDU/ITG2013/
