I'm excited that I've now got something to look forward to after the holiday rush is over. I just saw a post about the new light show addition that's coming to the World of Winter Festival, starting January 17th.

This year the month-long festival, that promotes activities around Grand Rapids, is adding a really cool lighting sculpture at 555 Monroe Ave., where they have been doing Movies on Monroe.

It’s called Prismatic on Monroe and it looks really cool.  It’s an interactive light installation that’s actually been on tour around the world. Here’s the description from the World of Winter website:

The interactive installation includes 25 pivoting prisms, creating a modern ice palace that transmits and reflects color and light. As the prisms rotate, a soundtrack of bells plays in the background.

This looks and sounds really cool. It will be here January 17th through February 16th for the World of Winter Festival.

Other things happening during the World of Winter festival: Silent Disco, Lunar New Year celebration, World Market & Game Day, Downtown Market Ice Bar, and Movies on The Piazza.  Yeah, Saturday, February 1st you can sit in front of Studio Park and watch summer movies starting at 11 am with ‘Moana,’ then ‘The Sandlot’, ‘What About Bob’, and ‘Jaws’.

Check out the full schedule of events happening, and definitely check out Prismatic on Monroe.
