The Kalamazoo County Sheriff held a news conference Wednesday morning on further developments in the case of missing Kalamazoo doctor Teleka Patrick.

The Indiana State Police have confirmed that the body found in Lake Charles on Sunday is that of the missing Kalamazoo woman.

Dr. Teleka Patrick disappeared in early December. Her car was later found along I-94 in Porter County, Indiana. A body was found in a nearby lake this weekend, and the Porter County Coroner conducted an autopsy on the body Tuesday.

Initially there were reports that Patrick's mother confirmed that the body found was that of her daughter. Those reports were found to be false, and the family released a statement saying they were awaiting official word from police on the identity of the body.
