I'm sorry. You are reading this, and I'm sorry I decided to bring it up. I am sorry I'm sorry.

This is crazy, and, I'm sorry!

Do you do this, find yourself saying "I'm sorry" several times a day? Huh? Right? I'm sorry! It seems to be the never ending American apology. We all say it. We say it for tons of reasons. I'm sorry I forgot...I'm late...to bother you...that I bumped into you...I'm sorry I'm tired... I'm sorry, but I could go on. See! It prefaces almost everything we say.

This is amazing, when you think about it. We say it all the time. I'll bet I've unconsciously already said it five times today and it's beginning to drive me crazy.

Ranker.com has come out with a fun list of some of the top things we apologize for, and I found myself using all of them. For instance, saying no to people, wanting to be alone, people bumping into you, when you return something to a store, and on and on. For some reason we feel the need to take responsibility for things that actually have nothing to do with us.

So, I'm sorry, enough of my rant. What do you think? Are you as guilty as I am? Probably. Maybe we can all work on our "I'm sorry's." It doesn't mean we're any less sincere, just that we don't have to apologize for living.
