Here at The River, we're all animal lovers.  Mostly furry, sometimes feathered and less often scaled.  That's why we love "Wet Nose Wednesday" segment with the Humane Society Of West Michigan.

This Saturday, there are two special events happening.

First, Saturday evening HSWMI presents a special opportunity to meet Army Captain Luis Carlos Montalván, author of "Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him," and his best friend and service dog, Tuesday! There will be a discussion about the book, Captain Montalvan's service and injuries and of course lots of love and praise for Tuesday (the dog)!  Tickets available HERE.

Also happening on Saturday, HSWMI is hosting a "12-Hour Spring Carnival Of Savings" from 10:30am to 10:30pm.  There will be discounted adoptions, carnival games, Zumba and other fun stuff!

Schedule of Events

10:30 am - 6:00 pm: Carnival Games
12 pm - 1 pm: Rockin' Rovers
2 pm - 3 pm: Adoptables Parade
