The City of Hudsonville’s Fire Department and the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department will host a free hot dog cookout with ice cream at the fire station at 3275 Central Blvd in Hudsonville on September 1 from 4:00PM - 7:00PM.

The event is part of the Public Safety Open House which is designed to bring the community out to see the emergency services that are available in the county and to make sure that they have the most up-to-date safety information.

Firetrucks, Sheriff’s vehicles, Central Dispatch, the Marine Patrol Boat & Dive Team, Mounted Patrol, Haz-Mat, Incident Command Trailer, Ambulance, and Search & Rescue will all be on display at the event. There will also be demonstrations of Jaws of Life and K-9 Dogs.

Visitors will have the chance to spray the fire hose, ride a sheriff’s horse, try the driving simulator and seat belt sled, meet Vince & Larry the crash test dummies, learn how to use a fire extinguisher, and fill out a fingerprint card.
