There are a lot of ways to enjoy a clear night in West Michigan.

One of them is very simple, just look to the sky.

There are many opportunities to see the International Space Station from Grand Rapids.

It's easy to spot if the weather cooperates and you know when and where to look.

The space station is usually only visible for a few minutes, so you have to be ready.

Some nights the space station travels far above the horizon, but many nights it doesn't get higher than about 20 degrees over the horizon.

Long visibility and a high degree of travel are nice, but you still have to hope for a clear night.
