The election is over.  So is the waiting.

Many waited an hour or longer to vote in West Michigan.

Would you wait that long?

How long would you wait in line to vote?

I visited my polling location late morning to try to avoid the crowds.  I was lucky to find a line that was only 10 minutes long.  Many were not so lucky.

WZZM reported that at 4:00pm the average wait in Grand Rapids was 90 minutes.

Mlive.com reported that at Mona Shores Middle School's polling location the final ballot wasn't cast until about 9:50pm.  They also report that there were three hour lines in Ferndale.

High voter turnout combined with lengthy ballots led to long lines which were an inconvenience to many, but a small price to pay to enjoy the chance to be heard by voting.
