Okay, this is NOT good!  The allergy outlook in Grand Rapids is getting worse.

Our news partner, WZZM TV13, reports that the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America ranks Grand Rapids as the 17th worst city in the nation for allergies.

Yep, I can attest to that.  And, the sad part of that is that's up from 35th place last year. The foundation blames the slide on Grand Rapids' pollen score, which is worse than the average 300 grains per cubic meter. The number of medicated patients and board certified allergists in Grand Rapids are in line with the national average.  That's comforting.

Where is it worse, and, where shouldn't I go?  The top five worst cities for Americans with allergies:

#1: Jackson, Mississippi
#2: Knoxville, Tennesee
#3: Chattanooga, Tennessee
#4: McAllen, Texas
#5: Louisville, Kentucky

Detroit was the only other Michigan city listed in the report; it ranked 26th.
