I don't know if you have followed this story from Tuesday or not, but a young Grand Haven boy was seriously injured by a bomb, a "homemade" pipe bomb.  Huh?  Yes, a pipe bomb that he had made.

The 15-year-old Grand Haven boy suffered serious injuries when he tried to ignite the bomb.

The accident happened around 2:45 p.m. at a home in the 12000 block of Lakeshore Drive.

As parents, aren't we all thinking, 'what was HE thinking?'

He was apparently  alone in his yard when the homemade bomb blew up as he tried to ignite it, blowing open a gate to the back yard.

He suffered serious burns when black powder ignited. He had wounds to his chest, arms, hands and face. He was taken by ambulance to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital here in Grand Rapids.

The extent of his injuries was unknown. The incident remains under investigation.

So sad.....so senseless.  We pray for his recovery.
