Another sad chapter in the closing the Holland Country Club.  The club's clubhouse, lounge, restaurant equipment and furnishings are up for bid on the Internet.  The online auction runs through 5 p.m. tomorrow.

Holland Country Club closed in 2009 after defaulting on a $1.5 million loan with Macatawa Bank. The 145-acre, 18-hole golf course was built in 1921 and became a private course in 1979.

At the website, potential bidders will find 209 lots in the auction ranging from commercial double-deck convection ovens to a Vulcan restaurant gas range from the kitchen.

There are also mixers, a meat slicer, walk in freezer/refrigerator, pots, pans, utensils and other culinary items.

From the clubhouse and dining room there are oak lockers, exercise equipment, a piano, a Sligh grandfather clock, televisions, office furniture, dining room tables and chairs, pictures, prints and a full bar.
