Reports of the flu have been growing across Michigan since mid-December.

Last week, statewide reports of flu-like symptoms decreased.

Has flu season already peaked in Michigan?

The chart below tracks visits to doctor's offices and hospitals for flu-like symptoms in Michigan.

This year's reports show results similar to last year's.

The chart also shows that in each non-mild flu season, once the reports of flu-like symptoms began to retreat from the first big spike of the season, they never exceeded the original peak again.

Will that hold true again this season? Have we already reached the peak of flu season in Michigan?

Who knows?

But recent history suggests it is definitely possible.
