Lots of folks in Grand Rapids headed to the movies this weekend to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, and people all across the country followed suit, devouring the movie like a box of chocolate frogs.Opening shows were sold out, and the movie made buckets of money.

According to Hollywood.com, the movie has grossed over $168 million in its first weekend, which is the top opening weekend ever for any movie. It also broke several other records. These are listed on their website.

USA Today says that some estimates predict that the final Potter film may outsell The Dark Knight, and gross the third-highest total of any film, behind Avatar and Titanic. Time will tell.
