Michigan Works! is looking for you in Kent and Allegan counties.  They are looking for employees who go above and beyond to make customers happy.

Our news partner, WZZM TV13, tells us this is the sixth year the agency has honored important yet sometimes undervalued workers during the Essential Service Awards.

All employees contribute to the growth of our community and the efficiency of their organization, however, we tend to recognize those in leadership or highly visible positions, and often overlook the significant contributions that a virtually invisible workforce – the support workers make to our community by passionately performing less visible tasks.

Jane Roccaforte Kreha told us Michigan Works! has extended the deadline for nominations to November 22.  Nominees can come from a variety of industries, including hospitality, retail, healthcare, transportation, government, food service, general labor, child care, non-profit and custodial. A subcommittee of the Workforce Development Board will decide the 10 winners, who will be recognized in their workplace as well as during the January meeting of the Economic Club of Grand Rapids.

Times a wasting, so nominate someone today by filling out the nomination form.  Simply CLICK HERE for the link and complete information.
