"Fall in Love with STEM" takes place on Saturday, February 23, on Grand Valley State University's Allendale campus.

All middle school students are invited to attend and participate in workshops and activities focusing on cell and molecular biology, engineering, math, physics and chemistry. The projects include extracting DNA from a banana, exploring magnetism and using green chemistry.

"Fall in Love with STEM" is presented by the Association of Women in Science of West Michigan. It will be held on February 23, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon, in the Padnos Hall of Science, on GVSU's Allendale Campus. It was originally schedule for February 9, but was moved to February 23. Register here.

Additional events focusing on geology, math, biology, astronomy and chemistry will take place from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on the first floor of the Calkins Science Center at Grand Rapids Community College.
