GVSU Football Spring Classic is Saturday

The Grand Valley State University Football Spring Classic is at Lubbers Stadium in Allendale on Saturday.

The Spring Classic, presented by Countryside Greenhouse of Allendale, is from noon - 2PM. Admission is free, concessions will be open and there will be some giveaways too.

Unlike some spring football events, GVSU's Spring Classic will not feature a regular game. The Spring Classic is more like an open practice. The practice-like atmosphere helps to keep the risk of injuries to a minimum.

A number of football programs are beginning to favor spring practices instead of games to finish off the spring season.

Saturday will be the public's first look at what Grand Valley hopes is a dominant defense.
