Grandville Girls Softball finished pool play at the Little League World Series with a big 16-6 win over Victoria, BC Canada on Sunday.

Grandville finishes 3-1 and as the #2 seed in Pool B. They will play Lincoln Little League, Portland, Oregon on Monday in Portland, Oregon at 7PM EST.

Today's win for Grandville was aided by Canada's 9 errors. 7 of Grandville's 16 runs were earned. Grandville committed 1 error.

Grandville had already secured a birth in the quarterfinal before today's game, but the win earned them the #2 seeding in Pool B setting up the schedule for the rest of the tournament.

The LLWS started with 10 teams, including six U.S. teams and four teams from other countries. With one pool game left at the time of this writing, non-U.S. teams are collectively 2-13. Their two wins have come when playing each other.

Grandville will play Lincoln Little League, Portland, Oregon in the quarterfinal. Lincoln Little League received an automatic invitation to the tournament for being the host. They finished pool play as the Pool A #3 seed. Their two wins have come against non-U.S. teams.

  • East vs. West at 1PM EST
  • Europe-Africa vs. Southeast at 4PM EST
  • Oregon District 4 vs. Central (Grandville) at 7PM EST
  • Canada vs. Southwest at TBD

If Grandville wins Monday, they will play the winner of Canada vs. Southwest at 9:30PM EST on Tuesday.

The semifinals will be broadcast live on ESPN on Tuesday, August 16 at 7PM EST and 9:30PM EST. The championship game will be on ESPN2 on Wednesday, August 17 at 9PM EST.
