Grand Rapids Winter Parking Restrictions Begin!
It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas, Everywhere You Go! The only problem is it's looking like Christmas January 13, 2012.
I guess I should be thankful that Grand Rapids has managed to dodge the big, white, snow bullet for so long. Most who have lived in West Michigan know that the weather can be unpredictable and most realized that this day would come sooner or later.
Still for those of us who are NOT snow bunnies, it was hard to wake up to this today.
Just wanted to give you a heads up though on the parking restriction for our city that are now in effect. Police are now enforcing the even/odd parking rules to make it easier for snowplows and emergency vehicles to get through our city streets.
What that means is, drivers are to park on the even numbered side of the street on even numbered days and they are to park on the odd numbered side of the street on odd numbered days. These parking rules will be enforced between 1 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Considering how desperate every city is to generate money my guess is Grand Rapids Police will be out in full force looking to collect fines for not following these rules. So Just Do It!
