Andy Vidro has made his mark in the triathlon community at both a local and national level. Co-Director of the Grand Rapids Triathlon and Michigan Titanium Triathlon, he is getting Grand Rapids noticed. The GR Tri, has been chosen three times now to host a National Championship Event by USA Triathlon, bringing over $2MM in economic impact to the community.

Now, Andy has been given the honor of being appointed to the USA Triathlon National Board of Race Directors. This select group of race directors contribute to the success of triathlon and help to build the momentum of the sport. Andy is one of only three level 2 race directions in Michigan with his co-directors, Ann Vidro and Doug Tuttle being the other two.

 

The Grand Rapids Triathlon is a Sprint, Olympic and Half-Iron distance event to be held this June 12, 2016, and will be the host of the Clydesdale and Athena National Championships for second year in a row. The MI Titanium, Michigan’s only full-iron distance event in the state, will be held on August 12, 2016, and also offers a half-iron and Olympic distance as well. The MI Titanium was recently recognized as one of the top 5 toughest triathlons in the world by Triathlon Business International and Active’s list of the "Best Long-Distance Triathlons You've Never Heard Of"!
