Grand Rapids Schools Union High Launches “Thrift Shop” Parody Song Video (video)
What do you get when you mix some all-star teachers with great high school students and a Top 20 song? In this case, you get a remarkable video with a unique parody of the popular 'Thrift Shop' song all about learning math and improving grades.
Algebra I Teachers Bill Morris and Jon Tillema of Union High School worked with David Dublis, the Instructional Technology Specialist, and students at Union High School to create the video. They wrote this one of a kind song with a play off lyrics from the song like instead of "I'm gonna pop some tags" it is "I'm gonna up my grades".
That is very cool! Way to go Union and GRPS!
The Union teachers, students, and GRPS officials would love to see this go viral, so come on, let's spread the word.
