The lawns of the Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM) have been taken over by this years’ ArtPrize artists.

The Museum will host the works of fifteen artists, creating a great  experience for visitors with very interesting, approachable art.

Once again the GRPM’s Van Andel Museum Center will open as an outdoor venue only. Artwork began installation at the end of July, and many artists are just finishing up installation as ArtPrize officially open today.

The art can be found on the grounds near the Grand River, and the front and back lawn. Two outdoor food carts will be stationed on the lawns to make it easy for visitors to grab a quick bite or beverage while on the move. The Museum’s Curiosity Shop will offer a cart on the north lawn, carrying a variety of ArtPrize merchandise, including t-shirts, totes and buttons.

During ArtPrize 2014, the Grand Rapids Public Museum is open from noon to 5 p.m. daily, Monday through Sunday. From Sept. 24 through Oct. 12 (ArtPrize official dates), the Museum will offer guests half-off general admission rates. Through Sept. 28, ArtPrize visitors will have a last chance to see "Dream it, Build it," a Lego bricks exhibition.
