Following the United States' Supreme Court's ruling early Friday that bans on same-sex marriage in states like Michigan are unConstitutional, therefore making same-sex marriage legal across the country, folks in West Michigan celebrated!

They celebrated by going to their local court houses to get married, and by gathering at some of their local watering holes to hug, eat pizza and cake, and celebrate together. That is definitely what I discovered when I wandered down to The Apartment Lounge, anyway.

Free pizza was offered at the bar, which has sat at its current location at 33 Sheldon NE since 1988, while many came in what was being referred to those who walked through the door as "Happy Gay Day!" and "Happy SCOTUS Day!". They refer to themselves as the bar "Where Friends Meet" and meet they did.
