Once in a while we need to take a break from the busy holidays.

Looks like the Grand Rapids JW Marriott would be a good place to unwind.

JW Marriott mixologist Kellie Rowland has won multiple awards for the signature drinks she's mixing in Grand Rapids.

Rowland won an award from Experience Grand Rapids and the Kent County Lodging Association last week.  She was credited with improving nightlife in Grand Rapids by providing another reason to come downtown...her signature drinks.

Rowland also won a worldwide cocktail mixing competition where she competed against other mixologists from the Marriott chain.

Mlive.com has more on the local award:

Nominations came from hotel guests and employers, and awards were given out based on attitude, attentiveness, performance and knowledge among other things.

Rowland is a favorite among guests because she is always looking for new and fun ways to keep the customers intrigued and coming back for more, says Brian Behler, director of rooms for the upscale downtown Grand Rapids hotel and president of the Kent County Lodging Association..

“She is innovative in providing the most amazing cocktail creations,” said Behler. “Many of our top guests and visitors to mixology rave about her charisma, smile, first class welcome and fond farewell. She truly provides our customers the JW excellence in service.”

Sounds intriguing.  Guess we'll have to go and try it out for ourselves.
