Mmmm, boy, delicious sandwiches in the Grandwich contest here in Grand Rapids.

It's time to name the "best sandwich" of Grand Rapids, 2013, and the contest is on now through August 16.  All of the information, and a list of each participating restaurant is on their web site and you can see them by clicking HERE.

The Bistro at Courtyard by Marriott, downtown, is one of the competing restaurants.

Alexis, Food & Beverage Manager, and Chef Laurie, brought in their entry.  It's the housemade pastrami sandwich.  The Brisket comes from Sobie Meats and has been brined, pepper crusted, smoked and roasted in house.  It is topped with slightly sweet picked red cabbage, spicy pickle relish and mustard using Shorts "Nicie Spicie" beer.  It's all piled on a Nantucket Baking company Pretzel and accompanied with home made, Michigan beer battered onion rings.  Pretty good eating!
