I was at the Fulton Street Farmers Market this past Saturday picking up some fresh eggs and hubbard squash.  One of the family farmers explained to me that this weekend some things will be changing.

The Winter market hours from November 15th-December 17 are 8am-3pm at the current market location, 1147 East Fulton.

BUT, during construction the market entrance on Fulton Street will be closed but you may use the Fountain Street entrance on the back side of the market.

Then beginning January 7th-April 28th market hours and location will change to Saturdays, 10am-1pm.  The new "temporary" market location will change to the Salvation Army Fulton Heights Citadel, located at 1235 East Fulton (at the North East corner of Fulton and Fuller)

I think we in Grand Rapids are so lucky to have an indoor Farmer's Market beginning in January.  This all the winter vegetables!

There is just nothing better than buying local.  There really isn't!  I feel so much better knowing where my food is coming from and that it's fresh off a family farm right here in our area.  Of course, it's a perk that you can talk to the people who actually grow what you are nourishing your body with.  Make a note of hours and locations and Buy Local!
